So there I was all bummed out because ‘I didn’t get the workshop I wanted’ *waa waa waa* ( siiigh sometimes I need to just grow up and appreciate things that come my way).
SO BASICALLY , like around two months ago I picked up special priced 1POUND glamour mag, mmm whether I bought it because of the special price or not, is debatable, but not the point( I do kiiiinda, soooometimes pick it up when I randomly have a couple extra bucks on me).Anyway as i proceeded with the usual flick though before actually taking in the FANTASTIC content (you see I’ve developed a new love for the organization) and I came across a MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE headline, with details offering the chance for once in a life time sessions(brought to us by The Body Shop, with the launch of their new fragrance; DREAMS Unlimited) with successful celebrity and professionals in the Fashion and Beauty, Careers and Finance and Health and Well being field. All I had to do was be one of the first to email.
………. really?……..OK ?
SO I SENT IT , it wasn’t hard to pick the Fashion and Beauty session ( with celebrity make-up artist CHASE ASTON, Glamour’s Executive Fashion and Beauty Editor: Julia Jule and Glamour Beauty Director: Alessandra Steinherr).I expected to be one of the first , I’m not really sure why (I mean, surely a couple thousand people must have picked up the 1 POUND GLAMOUR MAGAZINE, but hey , I had a lil FAITH).
MONTHS PAST, well a month and a bit, long enough for me to forget and remember randomly a few weeks ago and come to the conclusion maybe I wasn’t so fast.THEN very shortly after I recieved an email saying I had won a place in a workshop (YAY), in the Westbury Hotel (YAY) and It will be the the HEALTH AND WELL BEING WORKSHOP ( NOT SO YAY, in fat very far from yay).I don’t know why I felt so disappointed that I didn’t get the one I wanted, ignoring the fact that I won a very exclusive session with a celebrity fitness mogul.I told everyone that would listen about my “very unfortunate” turn out and attempted to get the workshop changed. It didn’t get changed. But I decided to ‘just go anyway’ to make the most of it .
So today was the day and I was apprehensive about what was to be expected and kept thinking of how great the other workshops MUST HAVE BEEN*waa waa*.
I met up with my best friend, who I chose to take with me and off we went down New Bond Street (very posh and certainly an environment I could get used to). As soon as we walked into the Westbury Hotel, I then new I had to slap myself on the wrist for the negative attitude I had adopted concerning the GREAT OPPORTUNITY. We were met with champagne and nibbles and after a little introduction from a representative from The Body Shop, Up came Matt Roberts (celebrity fitness mogul http://www.mattroberts.co.uk/london/default/index.asp )who gave words of wisdom concerning business, fitness and the pursuit of dreams. IT WAS TRULY MOTIVATING AND INSPIRING! I then got a 20 minute one on one with him and left with a ‘new plan’ to be the THIN FIT FRIEND (lol). To top it all off, I got a lovely manicure and left with a JUICY GOODIE BAG !!:D
THE MORAL OF THE STORY ( flash backs of year 2 story times )
After these series of, what I have not established as , very fortunate events, I have learnt (FROM NOW ONWARDS) to fully appreciate and have a optimistic attitude concerning any positive opportunities that could only add to who I am as a person and what I want to do career wise. I never know HOW BLESSED I AM GOING TO BE! I DO NOT WANT TO MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN, DEVELOP OR JUST HAVE FUN !
IS A CAMERA , a legit one , that will capture the beauty I see.The THOUSANDS of moments that I miss in a day, is quite sad and I don’t want to become numb to these moments. FASHIONahhhh, its a beautiful thing and inspiring in many different ways. I want to be on my guard, to capture MY VERSION of beauty and possibly other people’s.WHEN concerned with creativity , I do appreciate that it (creativity) can supersede situations and a lack of high-tech equipment, given the passion and element of using what you have to the best ability, BUT I WANT THE BEST or even better TOOLS, so I can take my exploring to a whole new level!!
I am very aware that its not just my camera situation, it is too easy to get wrapped up in the ‘FAST' life and loose the sensitivity to the simply beautiful things around us.MY AIM , to slow down with my camera in ready to SNAP… AND catch the moment that will NEVER happen again.
