I am alsmost certain that I am the founder of a new form of fashion practice and I call it ‘STYLE STALKING’: A form of style profiling, where a street style photographer stalks a stylish subject (unbeknown to them) acquiring shots, emphasising the stylish subject sense of style, composure and taste ISH in natural motion.
This whole experience was a very interesting one; I took a very James Bond 007 approach to taking the pictures and attracted very questionable looks from passer-bys and the actual ‘subjects’ themselves. I tried my best to be discreet, but when a killer shot was at my finger tips, I took the risk of having someone call the police for ‘harassment’. TO BE HONEST any reference to ‘style stalking’ being some sort of harassment would be a massive exaggeration, but hey, everyone has rights to own comfort.
Stopping, asking and getting people to pose began to get tedious and I found just capturing the moment much more creatively satisfying. I felt the shots I got will allow people to see through my eyes, the details that capture my eyes, how I look at somones style ; the hair, the shoes , the bags.
It was tricky with people walking at 100 miles per hour, as they do! But the stylish lingerers were a TREAT to my lens
